4 Things we need to see from Hellboy in Injustice 2
Hellboy will soon make his way into the world of Injustice 2 and as a huge Hellboy fan, it's very exciting. It's also a little scary because you want the character to feel right. NetherRealm Studios seem to be good at character fan service though, so here's hoping they do well by the red ape. That being said, here are four things they need to do to really nail it.
4. Personality
Getting Hellboy's personality and mannerisms right is very important and there are a few little details that could really help. In some super move cinematics, the character being attacked will sometimes utter the word "NO!" before the big finale and that would seem a little off for Hellboy. A simple "Crap..." Or "Jeez!" would fit perfectly. I'm also hoping all his dialogue doesn't come off as cocky as it did in the Fighter Pack 2 teaser trailer.
3. dialogue
Hellboy could reference some characters from the franchise pretty easily in Injustice. Abe Sapien with Aquaman and Liz Sherman with Firestorm. I think the most interesting dialogue would be between Hellboy and Doctor Fate. Hellboy has always had problems with avoiding his fate as the herald of the apocalypse and the Doctor could really bring that out in an interesting way.
2. The Gear
The gear system gives NetherRealm plenty of opportunities to reference the comics. This could mean cute little nods like Hellboy's black t-shirt with the B.P.R.D. logo on or something more important like a head piece with a missing eye. Either way, what they do here could really please the fans. I would love a battle damaged set with broken horns, a torn up coat and broken arrows lodged in Hellboy's back. And we need a classic Hellboy duster jacket with sweet game physics.
1. Berserk
If Hellboy's super move does not involve him going full on demon berserk mode like in the comics, horns, crown, smoke and all, I might cry just a little bit. Maybe we can get a cameo from his sword Excalibur? This might be the most exciting part of Hellboy's appearance in Injustice 2.
What do you think? Thanks for reading.
